1a) Sunrise & Morning Market

This tour starts about 05:15 depending on the season. With its hilltop location, Wat Phra That Khao Noi is the obvious choice for sunrise watching in the city. The location isn’t the only wonderful thing about Wat Phra That Khao Noi, though, facing the sun and the city at the temple’s iconic 9-meter tall walking Buddha statue or the Blessing Buddha is also quite wonderful. You’ll have to drive up there or climb over 300 staircases, but the journey is worth it. The view of the sun coming over the horizon and casting an orange glow around the golden Buddha is really something else.

After having watched the sunrise over Nan we will go to the morning market (which starts actually at 04:00 but locals say the fresh organic farmer vegetables market even starts as early as 02:00.) Many trucks pick up the fresh harvest to bring it to the Big Fancy Hotels in Bangkok and other tourist cities. Here we buy some food items to give our alms. A nice way is to stop three monks or more to give the alms. (there is a simple but very important ritual how to give alms and you will be explained how to do by your Dutch, English or Thai tour leader) After giving alms the monks will be chanting together to bless you. A wow super good feeling to know you are going back to your Hotel/ Resort around 07:00-07:30 all blessed. If your are going to The Nan Seasons Resort your freshly cooked breakfast is waiting for you to enjoy!
